How to START a MEDITATION Practice
How to START a MEDITATION Practice
Understanding Chi(Qi)
Meditation allows us to access the powerful energy that exists all around us, and within us. This power source which is commonly referred to as Chi(Qi) or Prana (Life force energy) in the east, has been studied and measured on many different levels and has been proven to be so beneficial to our health and well being.
Studies from the Mind/Body Medical institute at Harvard Medical School have shown that regular meditation can eliminate insomnia, PMS symptoms, improve mental focus, reduce blood pressure and much more. It has also been stated from many different sources that 20 minutes of good meditation can be more restful than 8 hours of deep sleep!
Re-charge your Battery
We are constantly draining our energy(Qi) in so many ways we don’t even realize. Worrying about past and future, worrying about our careers, creating and solving artificial problems and the wear and tear of our day to day lives are draining us! The more we learn how to recharge our batteries the more capable we become of overcoming obstacles, releasing built up stress and enhancing our life experience over-all.
With Practice you can learn how to tap into this endless supply of ENERGY
Through the simple techniques I am about to show you, you will understand what meditation is, and how you can start accessing this power immediately. And once you feel the healing that takes place each time you meditate, you will see this as an indispensable life tool.

Meditation STARTS HERE! “Follow Your Breath”
1. Start by making your self comfortable, perhaps you are sitting up right in a chair.
2. Open up your palms toward the sky
3. Relax the muscles in your face COMPLETELY (In Zen this is referred to as “the Original Face”) Relaxing your toungue, lower jaw, eyebrows and ears.
4. Breathe through your nose SLOWLY fully expanding your chest (In your head count - inhale… 2…3…4)
5. Now exhale slowly again through your nose, empty your lungs and stomach fully while you relax your face, counting in your head (exhale…2…3…4)
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you feel you are beginning to relax, then try slowing down a little bit more. (Inhale…….2……..3……..4……..Exhale……..2…….3…….4…….)
This technique can be practiced for a few minutes or until the desired relaxing effect takes place. Be cautious of dizziness or feeling light headed. If this happens relax your breathing for 30 seconds and continue practicing your “Original Face”, then continue.
Meditation is the space between thoughts, when we experience “No mind” just the pure essence of reality, excluding all the filters of the “EGO” we begin to rest on a level that is unattainable even in our sleep state. This allows us to open up and receive energy from the beyond!!!
